Information and Registration Form

The purpose of this website is to provide an online forum and resource for Aboriginal women to socialize, network, support, and find useful and relevant information on current issues affecting women in their communities.

Because family violence is one of the most important issues facing Aboriginals in Canada, and Aboriginal women are at a higher risk of becoming victims of violence than any other members of Canadian society, WAWC has dedicated this website to information to help recognize and prevent violence against Aboriginal women in the Yukon.

Some of the things you can do here are:

  • join the Talking Circle, an online community where Aboriginal women can come together and share their experiences, knowledge, and strength in a non-threatening environment.
  • visit our Calendar page to learn about events in Whitehorse and the Yukon. Have an event you'd like listed? Email us
and we'll post it for you!
  • learn about our Woman's Advocate and how she can help you.
  • find important information and resources about services available to you by clicking on the Find Help tab.
  • learn more about the different ways you can experience violence in relationships when you click on the Circle of Violence tab. Learn what behaviour is considered abusive and the cycle of violence.
